Precautions on Adjusting

1) The adjustments of this unit are performed in the VTR mode
or camera mode.
To set to the VTR mode, set the power switch to "VCR" (or
"PLAYER") or set the "Forced VTR Power ON mode" using
the adjustment remote commander (Note 1).
To set to the Camera mode, set the power switch to "CAMERA"
or set the "Forced Camera Power ON mode" using the
adjustment remote commander (Note 2).
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the "Forced VTR
Power ON Mode" or "Forced Camera Power ON Mode". (Note 3)
2) As removing the cabinet (L) assembly (removing CN2006 of
the VM-027 board) means removing the lithium 3V power
supply (BT001 on the FK1850 block), data such as date, time,
user-set menus will be lost. After completing adjustments, reset
these data. If the cabinet (L) assembly has been removed, the
self-diagnosis data, data on history of use (total drum rotation
time etc.) will be lost. Before removing, note down the self-
diagnosis data (data of page: 2, address: B0 to C6) and the data
on history use (data of page: 2, address: A2 to AA). (Refer to
"5-4.Service Mode" for the data on the history use and the
self-diagnosis data.)
3) The cabinet (L) assembly (control switch block (FK1850),
control switch block (PS1850), KY-060 board) needs not be
connected to operate the VTR block, if the "Forced VTR power
ON" mode is set. But, the monitor TV can't be connected
because the AUDIO/VIDEO jack is attached to the cabinet (L)
assembly. To remove the cabinet (L) assembly, disconnect the
following connectors.
VM-027 board CN2006 (51P, 0.3mm)
4) Short-circuit between TP001 of the flash unit (MC1850) and
the GND with the short jig about 10 seconds and discharge the
flashlight power supply capacitor. (Refer to "SERVICE
NOTE".) The flash unit (ST1850) needs not to be connected
during the adjustments. To disconnect it, disconnect the
following connector
Flash unit (MC1850) CN2003 (33P, 0.3mm)
5) To remove the cabinet (R) assembly, disconnect the following
connectors.
1. VM-027 board CN2005 (27P, 0.3mm) (Intelligent
accessory shoe)

terminal, LCD block)
6) As the DC IN jack and LANC jack are connected to the FJ-
035 board of the cabinet (R), the FJ-035 board must be
connected to the VC-270 board. So remove the FJ-035 board
and DC IN jack from the cabinet (R). To remove them from
the cabinet (R), disconnect the following connectors. (The LCD
block and battery terminal need not to be connected.)
1. FJ-035 board CN1336 (16P, 0.8mm) (LCD block)
2. FJ-035 board CN1333 (6P, 0.5mm) (PANEL OPEN/
CLOSE switch, PANEL REVERSE switch)
3. FJ-035 board CN1334 (3P, 1.5mm) (Battery terminal)
Connect the FJ-035 board to the following connector of VC-
270 board.
VC-270 board CN011 (88P, 0.4mm)
7) There is a danger of electric shock when the flash unit
(MC1850) is handled by hand. The flash unit (MC1850) needs
not to be connected during the adjustments. To disconnect it,
disconnect the following connector after short circuit between
TP001 of the flash unit (MC1850) and the GND with the short
jig about 10 seconds and discharge the flashlight power supply
capacitor. (Refer to "SERVICE NOTE".)
VC-270 board CN009 (27P, 0.3mm)

11) The VM-027 board (Viewfinder, microphone amplifier) needs
not be connected to operate the VTR block, if the "Forced VTR
power ON" mode is set. But, the monitor TV can't be connected
because the AUDIO/VIDEO jack is attached to the cabinet (L)
assembly. To remove the VM-027 board, disconnect the
