• Certain chemical substances may be harmful to this
product. Contact the manufacturer for more infor-
mation.
• When interference increases or the volume becomes too
weak, it is time to replace the batteries. Never replace
batteries with the unit switched on. Ensure that the
battery is positioned correctly before using.
• The hearing protector radio, and particularly the ear
cushions, should be inspected regularly to ensure that
there are no cracks or other damage.
Note: If these recommendations are not followed, at-
tenuation and other functions can be impaired.
(C) TECHNICAL DATA
(C:1 & C:2) Attenuation values:
The attenuation values for Peltor active-volume hearing
protector radios are tested and approved according to
PPE directive 89/686 EEC and applicable sections of
European Standard EN 352-1:2002, EN 352-3:2002, EN
352-4:2001, EN 352-6 2002, EN 352-8:2008 Certificate

Finland ID#0403. The Peltor ALERT meets the requirements
of EMC directives, 2004/108/EC, EN55013 and 55020
and is FCC-approved (number FCC Part 15).
Explanation of the attenuation value table:
1. Weight
2. Frequency in Hz
3. Average attenuation value in dB
4. Standard deviation in dB
The earphone volume for music is measured at no more
than 81 dB(A) equivalent noise level according to the
PPE directive.
(C:3) Input signal level/usage time:
Maximum permitted audio signal in relation to usage
time
1. Hrs/day
2. Average level/electrical signal
3. Music/compressed speech x = 0,159 V
4. Uncompressed speech x = 0,159 V
To prevent harmful noise levels in the earphones, never
exceed these values (speech signal mean level).
(C:4) Level relationship:
Tested according to ISO 4869-4. Relationship between
A-weighted sound pressure level outside and inside the
shell.
(C:5) Noise suppression:
Frequency response and noise suppression for MT7 speech
microphone (headset model only)

(F) 100% USAGE IS THE ONLY SURE PROTECTION FROM
HEARING IMPAIRMENT
(1:1) 100% use – Gives the expected protection.
(1:2) 99% use – Just 5 minutes' carelessness per day
significantly reduces the effect of the hearing protector.
(1:3) 90% use – You can no longer expect any sure
protection.
• If you spend time daily in environments with a noise level
in excess of 85 dB A, you must protect your hearing.
• The hearing cells deep in the ear can be damaged ir-
reparably. This means permanent hearing loss.
• A comfortable hearing protector designed for the noise
level is the best guarantee that you will wear the hearing
protector 100% of your working time, thereby ensuring
protection from hearing loss.
