Connecting to a NetBIOS Network and Configuring a
Shared Folder

Windows 95/98/Me

NOTE
If a suitable Windows NT/2000/XP machine is available on your network, it is
recommended that you configure that machine as a file server instead of using a
Windows 95/98/Me machine.
In the following procedures, items displayed on the screen for Windows 98 are used;
items might differ depending on your operating system.

Setting Up a Computer as a File Server
Specify the NetBIOS settings.

Right-click the [Network Neighborhood] icon displayed on the screen, and then
click [Properties].

In [The following network components are installed], confirm that both [Client
for Microsoft Networks] and [File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks]
appear. If not, click the [Add...] button to install these components.

Click the [File and Print Sharing...] button, select [I want to be able to give
others access to my files], and then click the [OK] button.
