Changing the speaker setting

You can change the settings as you like.
The initial setup was made when shipped from the factory.
The unit can be used as it is, straight out of the box.
Speaker size setting

Press the SP MENU button repeatedly whilst pressing down the SHIFT but-
ton to select "SP SIZE".

Within 8 seconds, press the or button to select "FRONT".

Within 8 seconds, use the or button to select "LARGE" or "SMALL".
LARGE: When the front speakers can reproduce low frequencies (speakers which
can reproduce sounds lower than 60 Hz)
SMALL: When the front speakers cannot reproduce extremely low frequencies
It is recommended to use the supplied front speakers with "F-SMALL" setting.

Repeat the operation in steps 2 and 3 above to select "CENTER", "SUR-
ROUND" and "S-WOOFER".
Each of these items can be set separately.
Centre speaker:
Surround speakers:
Subwoofers:

YES: When the speakers are connected
NO: When no speaker is connected (When NO is selected, the indicator for that
speaker position will go out.)
INT: Setting of the internal subwoofers
EXT: Setting of an external subwoofer (See page 70.)
Notes:
When all 5 speakers have been connected, set each of the items to "YES" and the
subwoofer to "SW-INT".
The sound is output from the subwoofer when in the Bypass/Virtual mode, even if
the setting of subwoofer is changed.
