Clutch Installation

1. Apply a light coating of anti-seize to the engine shaft
and to the inside of the clutch bushing.
2. Insert the sq. key into the key way on the engine shaft.
Position the clutch under the shaft with the key ways
lined up and so the slot on the back of the clutch will slide
into the stop attached to the from of the unit. Be sure the
rubber grommet is on the slot of the clutch.
3. Slide the clutch onto the shaft until it rests against the
drive pulley.
NOTE: DO NOT FORCE OR HAMMER THE CLUTCH
ONTO THE SHAFT. Clutch should slide fairly easily
onto the shaft.
4. Start clutch bolt by hand into the shaft. Hold the clutch
bushing using the 1 1/2" wrench and torque by hand to
50 ft. lbs.
NOTE: Torque of the bolt is critical.
5. Connect the wiring and re-install deck belt tightening
the over-center latch.
6. Re-install the guards.
NOTE: Failure to install clutch guard will void the
warranty of the clutch.
