SECTION 5—ARMS
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
DO NOT attempt to lift or tilt a wheelchair by using any removable (detachable)
parts. Lifting by means of any removable (detachable) parts of a wheelchair may
result in injury to the user or damage to the wheelchair.
Installing the Swingaway Padded Armrest Arm Socket
Assemblies
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 5.1.
1. Fold down the back. Refer to Unfolding/Folding the Back on page 32.
2. Remove the existing mounting screw, metal sleeve, and locknut located at the end of
the wheelchair frame behind the back cane mounting bracket.
NOTE: Position arm socket towards outside and rear of the wheelchair frame.
3. Slide the arm socket assembly onto the wheelchair frame.
4. Align the mounting holes in the arm socket assembly and wheelchair frame.
5. Using two new, long mounting screw, metal sleeve, and locknut, secure the arm socket
assembly to the wheelchair frame. Securely tighten.
6. Repeat STEPS 2-5 for the opposite arm socket.
