2.5.2 FAN320 unit substitution procedure

CAUTION
The period of routine substitution is only indicative. According to the environmental
conditions, it could be necessary to reduce this period.
FAN320 unit substitution
Please take caution to avoid equipment damage.
SAFETY RULES
Possibility of personal injury.
AFTER THE EXTRACTION OF A FAN320 UNIT, WAIT FOR AT LEAST 10 SEC-
ONDS TO PERMIT THE FANS TO STOP.
Personal injury can be caused by rotating fans.
Refer to Figure 1. on page 30,
Replace the FAN320 unit from the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-320 subrack as follow:
1) Unscrew the retained screws (6), (one on the right and one on the left) of the FAN320 unit.
2) Extract the FAN320 unit (3) or (4) from the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-320 subrack (2).
3) Insert a new FAN320 unit into the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-320 subrack and check the correct
functionalities: "status LED" (ref.
4) Insert the two screws that were unscrewed in step 1.
