Setting the squelch level higher filters out noise and lets only
actual radio transmissions through.
To adjust the squelch level, press and hold VOL/SQL. The
screen displays SQL and a SQUELCH level number (0 - 3).
Press ▲ and ▼to adjust the squelch level. Press and hold
VOL/SQL again to set the squelch level and return to the
main display.
Note: Setting the squelch level too high may prevent
you from hearing weaker transmissions. If you are
having difficulty hearing a transmission, try setting
the squelch level lower.

Set Key Lock

Press and hold WX/LOCK to lock the radio's keys to prevent
accidental entry. LOCK displays when Key Lock is active.
Press and hold WX/LOCK again to unlock the keys.
Note: When Key Lock is active, only PTT, Boost, and
Power keys are operational.

Select Band Type

Press BAND/MENU to select the Marine/VHF or GMRS
band.
Press WX/LOCK to select the Weather band.

Change the Channel

Press ▲ or ▼briefly to scroll through the channels one
channel at a time. Press and hold ▲ or ▼to quickly scroll
through the channels.

Make a Transmission

Select the channel you want to transmit on, then press and
hold PTT. Release PTT when you're finished talking to let
the other party respond.
x To prevent stuck microphone problems or situations
where PTT is pushed accidentally, the radio limits your
talk time to 5 minutes in a single transmission.
