Warning Lights

Testing Warning Lights
1. Apply 12 VDC to terminals 1A and 2A.
2. Ground terminals 1B and 2B.
3. Both indicator lights should light.
Engine Oil Pressure Light
The oil pressure light should come on when the ignition
switch is in the ON position with the engine not running.
Also, it should light with the engine running when the oil
pressure drops below 7 PSI (0.5 kg/cm
1. Disconnect green wire from the oil pressure switch.
2. Ground green wire to the engine block.
3. Turn ignition switch to ON; the oil pressure light
should come on indicating correct operation of the elec-
trical wiring to the oil pressure switch.
4. Turn ignition switch to OFF. Reconnect green wire to
the oil pressure switch.
High Temperature Shutdown Light
If the coolant temperature rises to 230
high temperature light should come on as the high tem-
perature shutdown switch stops the engine.
1. Ground the wire attached to temperature switch on
flywheel end of engine. Warning light and audible alarm
should go on and engine should stop running.
2. Depress alarm silence and alarm should turn off. De-
press high temperature override and hold, engine
should start and run.
3. Reconnect wire to temperature switch.
Glow Plug Indicator Light
The glow plug indicator light should come on when the
ignition switch is placed in ON prior to placing the ignition
switch in START. The light should stay lit for 10 seconds
while the ignition switch is left in ON.
Charge Indicator Light
The charge indicator light should come on when the igni-
tion switch is in ON with the engine not running or with
an improperly operating charging circuit while the en-
gine is running.
