4in. angle grinder

GENERAL USE

The 4in. (100mm) angle grinder is designed to grind
all types of material and has been designed for DIY
(Do It Yourself) and hobbyist purposes. Select the
appropriate disc depending on the type of material you
are grinding or cutting. Please discuss replacement
discs with your retailer.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL POWER TOOLS
WEAR PROPER APPAREL. ENSURE THAT SKIN ON
ALL PARTS OF YOUR BODY IS COVERED AND
PROTECTED FROM SPARKS OR DEBRIS FROM THE
WORKPIECE OR ACCESSORY.
THIS INCLUDES SAFETY GLASSES, GLOVES, MASK,
SAFETY FOOTWARE AND CLOTHING
• Disconnect the tool from the power source by
removing the plug from the outlet prior to making
adjustments, fitting the disc or accessories. This
precaution must be taken to prevent the tool from
being accidentally switched "ON" while adjustment or
fitting is carried out.
• Always ensure that the work is securely clamped.
The work must not be held in the hand or supported
on the knees.
• Wear eye protection and, where appropriate,
respiratory protection, when using the tool. Fast-
moving particles from the work can cause eye injury.
• Don't over-reach, keep proper footing and balance
at all times.
• Maintenance should only be carried out by an
authorised service agent using original parts. If the
supply cord is damaged it should only
be replaced by an authorised service agent.
• When using an extension cord, ensure that a 10A
rated cord is used otherwise damage to the tool may
occur. Ensure that the cord is fully unreeled before use.
If used outdoors a heavy duty type must be used.
Have a registered electrician replace or repair any
damaged or worn cord immediately.
• The supply cord of the tool and any extension cord
used should be checked frequently for damage.
When grinding do not force the grinder as no more
force than the weight of the grinder itself should be
required. If the tool should slow significantly lift it away
from the surface to allow it to regain speed.
Continuous use at lower speeds will result in
permanent damage to your tool.
• Check damaged parts - before further use of the tool,
any guard or other part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to ensure that it will operate properly
and perform its intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts, and any other conditions which
may affect or restrict the tool's operation. A guard or
other part that that is damaged should be repaired or
replaced by an authorised service agent. Have
defective switches replaced immediately.
• The tool should not be exposed to excessive humidity
or be operated in areas with explosive or corrosive
gases. Sparks may be produced with this tool, which
can ignite flammable gasses and material.
• Do not use the tool in a confined space where body
movement may be restricted.
• Wear proper apparel as described above.
• Keep the blade guard in place and maintained in
proper working order.
• Keep hands away from cutting or grinding edges while
the tool is being operated.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Don't force the tool, it will do a better job and more
safely when used at a rate for which it is designed.
• Remove the wrench before use. Form the habit of
checking to see that the wrench is removed after
changing the disc before turning the tool on.
• This is not a toy. Do not let children use this grinder.
Store out of reach of children when not in use.
