The BPM1 is an electronic blood pressure monitor (also known as a sphygmomanometer), a medical device that is used to measure arterial blood pressure. The BPM1 comprises of a main unit that houses the battery, control panel and LCD, this connects to the user through a cuff that is wrapped around the upper arm. The BPM1 is the first ever Blood Pressure Monitor to be tested and approved by the British Hypertension Society.
