REACHING - BENDING FORWARD
• Ensure power is OFF. DO NOT lean your body forward out of the power chair further than the
length of the armrests.
• DO NOT attempt to pick up objects from the floor by bending forward and
reaching between your knees.
• DO NOT attempt to reach objects by sliding forward to the edge of the power
chair seat.
REACHING - BENDING BACKWARDS
• Again ensure power is switched OFF.
• DO NOT reach back any further than your arm will extend without changing your sitting
position.
• DO NOT lean over the top of the backrest as it will shift the centre of
gravity, risking tipping over.
• DO NOT hang heavy loads or objects on the backrest. They may make the
power chair unstable, especially on an incline.
