Using AF to Focus (AF Method)

Selecting the AF Method
You can select an AF method to suit the shooting conditions and your subject.
The following AF methods are provided: [FlexiZone - Single], [u (face)+
Tracking] (p.114), and [FlexiZone - Multi] (p.116).
If you want to achieve precise focus, set the lens focus mode switch to [MF],
magnify the image, and focus manually (p.120).
FlexiZone - Single: d
This is effective when you want to focus a particular subject, since only one
AF point is used to focus.
AF point
Select the AF method.
Select the AF method with Quick Control
(p.50).
Select the desired AF method at the
bottom of the screen, then tap [2] to set.
You can also select from [AF method]
under the [A2] tab.

Move the AF point.
Tap the screen to move the AF point to
where you want to focus. (It cannot go to
the edges of the picture.)
To return the AF point to the center, press
the <XL> button.
During movie shooting, if [Movie Servo
AF] is set to [Enable], the AF point will be
displayed in a larger size.
