INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Installation instructions
Installation must only be carried out by qualified and specialised personnel, in compliance with all the instructions given in this techni-
cal manual, the provisions of the current laws, the national and local regulations, and the rules of proper workmanship. The installation
of one or more collectors is an operation that modifies the existing roof structure. The roof coverings, e.g. tiles, shingles and slate,
especially in finished and inhabited attics or if the minimum roof slope is less than the permissible vales (for the coverings), require
additional construction measures, such as waterproofing membranes for preventing infiltration of water due to the pressure of the wind
and snow. These substructures, with their unions to the part in masonry, must be created on site according to the local situation. The
fixing variant by means of concrete blocks and ropes allows the collectors to be installed without making holes in the covering. The
collectors are assembled on concrete blocks. For better adherence between the roof and the concrete blocks, and to avoid damaging
the covering, it is advisable to use rubber mats. The structure can take sK=12 kN/m
To take the loads caused by wind gusts, it is necessary to provide for additional fixing by means of strong steel ropes of average diam.

connection points must be checked on site by a statics expert.
Statics
Installation must only be carried out on suitable and strong enough roofs or frames. The static capacity of the roof or frame must be
checked on site before the collectors are installed. In particular, appraise the suitability of the framework wood regarding the hold of
the screw connections prearranged for fixing the collectors. The inspection of the entire framework carried out by the maker according
to the regulations in force in the respective country is required especially in areas subject to heavy snowfall or in regions exposed to
strong winds. In these cases, it is necessary to take into account all the characteristics of the place of installation (foehn, nozzle effect,
creation of whirlwinds, etc.), that can involve greater stresses. The collectors must be assembled in such a way as to prevent the build-
up of snow, by means of protection structures. The distance from the ridges/edges of the roof must be at least 1 m.
Lightning protection / Compensation of building's potential
Usually it is not necessary to connect the collectors to the building's lightning protection (respect the regulations in force in the respective
countries). In installations on metal substructures, make sure to consult authorised experts on lightning protection. The metal pipes of
the solar circuit must be connected by means of a conductor (green/yellow) of at least 16 mm 2 CU (H07 V-U or R) to the main potential
equalising bar. Earthing can be carried out with a buried earth wire. The earth wire must be laid outside the building. The earth plate
must also be connected to the main potential equalising bar by means of a wire of the same diameter.

the optimum arrangement of the solar collectors. Take into account the solar radiation (angle of inclination, facing south). Avoid the shade
of trees or similar and adapt the field of collectors to the building's architecture (e.g. alignment with windows, doors, etc.).
Storage and transport
Transport and handling of the systems must be carried out by qualified personnel. The packed material must be stored and kept in
covered places and protected against the sun's rays (UV). The pack is not waterproof (rain) or damp proof. The material must be stored
in such a way that it is not damaged. Do not place or stack other types of
material on the pack supplied.
It is advisable to use a suitable strap to carry the collector. The collector
must not be lifted using the attachments. Make sure the collector does not
get knocked or undergo mechanical actions; above all, protect the solar glass
and the pipe connections.
Before handling, it is advisable to firstly fix the brackets on the hot water
tank and all its plumbing components.
In case of carrying by crane, they must be placed horizontally on a pallet, with
bottom suitable for protecting the panel, and fixed securely for handling.
Make sure the hot water tank is not subjected to violent impacts and knock-
ing.
