Step 3: Clean the Test Area.
CAUTION: Do not get water
inside the meter. Do not
immerse meter in water.
The following cleaning agents will
damage the meter.
DO NOT USE:
Alcohol
Cleansers with ammonia or phenol
Glass cleaners
Abrasive cleansers

Check the clear, protective coating
over the test area to make sure it is
not scratched or damaged.

Rub the test area with a cotton swab
or soft cloth dampened with water
to remove all blood, dirt, or lint from
the test area. If necessary, a mild
liquid dishwashing detergent mixed
with water may also be used. Do not
apply full-strength detergent to the
test area. Be careful not to scratch the
test area. Dry the test area with a soft,
dry tissue or cloth. Remove any lint.
