ENGINE OIL
I. To drain the oil, remove the oil filler
cap (I), drain plug (2), oil filter bolt
(3) and cover (4).
2. Check that the sealing washer on the
drain plug is in good condition and
install the plug. '
3. Check that the oil filter bolt and cover
O-rings afe in good condition, and
install the cover, aligning the recess in
the filter cover
with
the boss on the
water pump cover.

Engine oil quality is the chief factor
affecting engine service life. Change the
engine oil when specified by the mainte-
nance schedule.
NOTE:
• Change engine oil with the engine
warm and the motorcycle on its center
stand to assure complete and rapid
draining.
