Fuel Tank
Fuel tank capacity is 20 liters (5.3 US gal)
including 4 liters (1.1 US gal) in the
reserve supply. To open the filler cap
(I), open the rear top compartment cover
with ignition key and then turn the fuel
filler cap (I) counterclockwise.
Any automotive gasoline with a pump
octane number (R ; M) of 86 or higher,
or a research octane number of 91 or
higher, may oe used.

If "knocking" or "pinging" occurs, try a
different brand of gasoline or higher
octane grade.
... This fuel system is pressurized. Open
the filler cap slowly.
... Gasoline is extremely flnmmable and is
explosive under certain conditions.
Refuel in a well·ventilated area with
the engine stopped. Do not smoke or
allow flames or sparks in the area
where the motorcycle is refueled or
stored.
... Do not overfill the tank (there should
be no fuel in the filler neck). After
refueling, make sure the filler cap is
closed securely.
