FUNCTION 1) ROOM TEMPERATURE CONTROL Cooling Room temperature control is obtained by cycling the compressor ON and OFF under control of the room temperature sensor in the remote control unit. The room temperature (and other information) is transmitted every 3 minutes by the remote control unit to the controller in the indoor unit.

2) FREEZE PREVENTION This function prevents freezing of the indoor heat exchange coil. When the compressor has been running for 10 minutes or more and the temperature of the indoor heat exchange coil falls below -1°C, the control circuit stops the compressor for at least 6 minutes. ROOM TEMP.

4) DRY OPERATION (DEHUMIDIFICATION) HEAT PUMP MODEL Dry operation uses the ability of the cooling cycle to remove moisture from the air, but by running at low level to dehumidify without greatly reducing the room temperature. The air conditioner repeats the cycle of turning ON an OFF automatically as shown in the chart below according to the room temperature.

6) DEFROSTING OPERATION (HEAT PUMP MODEL) When the capacity of unit bas been decreased due to frost sticking to the outdoor heat exchanger during heating, the temperature drop gradient is detected by the microcomputer controlled temperature sensing system, and defrosting operation is started. At this time, the indoor and outdoor fan motors wills stop, only the compressor is operated, and the system is automatically changed to cooiling operation mode.

AIR CONDITIONER OPERATES, BUT ABNORMALITIES ARE OBSERVED (HEAT PUMP MODEL) 1) Operation does not switch from heat to cool (or cool to heat) Remote control unit may be defective. Receiver Ass’y may be defective. Measure resistance of solenoid coil winding (20 S - 4-way valve) 2) CHECK PCB ASS’Y IN INDOOR UNIT (HEAT PUMP MODEL) Switch operation from cool to heat (cool heat).

In order to ensure quick and safe connection to the vacuum pump, use the connection device (spare parts code number 383092901), which can be bought near Argo Service Dept. The service connection kit is supplied with 3/8” male aeroquip and copper tube at the other end.

Before starting the bleeding of the system, it is advisable to oil the quick connections with antifreezing oil (for istan- ce SUNISO 4 GS), and then connect and disconnect once the system, in order ensure that seals of the piston. Indoor unit bleeding Joint the service connection to the low pressure pipe of the vacuum pump, according to above instructions, the screw it to the female aeroquip connection of the indoor/outdoor connection pipe.
CHECKING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS 1) Measurement of Insulation Resistance EATHER LINE The insulation is in good condition if the resi- CLIP stance exceeds 1M . PROBE INSULATION Power Supply Wires TESTER Clamp the earthed wire of the power supply wires Fig. 1 with the lead clip of the insulation resistance tester and measure the resistance by placing a probe on either of the power wires (Fig.
