TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
CAUSE
• Using detector
indoors
• Using detector near
power lines
• Using 2 detectors in • Keep 2 detectors
close proximity
• Environmental
electromagnetic
interference
Do not mix alkaline, standard (zinc-carbon), or
rechargeable (NiCad, NiMH, etc.) batteries.
• Discharged battery
• Wrong type of
battery
present
• Highly mineralized
soil
• Sensitivity set
too high
• Cable not connected • Check connections
securely
SOLUTION
• Use detector
outdoors only
• Move away
from power lines
at least 6 meters
(20') apart
• Reduce sensitivity
until erratic
signals cease
Use alkaline batteries.
• Replace battery
• Use alkaline
batteries
• Sweep coil at
different angles
• Move to a
different area
• Reduce sensitivity
• Replace batteries
