Installing the flight battery

The flight battery is not included. Take the following steps to install a flight battery:
1. Solder the supplied battery cords to the connecting cable of your battery. Cover the soldering spots with
shrink tube to avoid short-circuits and damage. Always ensure the correct polarity. The red electronics
system cable of the RC EYE 450 must be connected to the positive cable of the rechargeable battery
and the black cable to the negative cable of the rechargeable battery.
2. Install the rechargeable battery (1) in the grid
frame (2) and attach it with RC Logger lock
straps (3).
3. In addition to the shown RC Logger lock straps,
also attach a strip of Velcro to the surface of
the battery (4), to prevent slipping forwards or
backwards. The connecting cables can also be
fixed under the Velcro (3) as shown in the picture.
The battery must be placed in the centre so that
the RC EYE 450 is not tail-heavy, top-heavy or
side-heavy.
The helicopter's electronics system has a safety device to prevent inadvertent engine start-up. When contact is
made with the rechargeable battery although the transmitter is not switched on or the speed/elevator control stick
was not set to zero, the control electronics in the model will not cause the engines to start.
When the transmitter is switched on and the speed/elevator control stick is set to zero once, the control
electronics in the model clears normal operating state.
To prevent inadvertent engine start-up if the safety device fails, the transmitter should be
switched on. The speed/elevator control stick must be set to zero so that no acceleration
command is sent.
Mounting of canopy
Two canopies are included in delivery. You are advised to use the rectangular-shaped canopy
for flying in X mode.
1. Before you mount the canopy take your time to study the following illustrations to have a better
understanding of the problem that may arise.
2. Carefully slide the canopy over the pillars until it firmly sits in place.
3. Turn each propeller and check the distance between propeller and canopy. A distance of min. 5 mm is
required to make sure the propellers do not touch the canopy during operation.
