The Scan functions can be used to temporarily store the scan data on the internal memory of the ma- chine and transmit the data over the network.

    Before using scanning functions Using Web services It is possible to give a scan command from a computer (Windows Vista) on the network or to perform scanning according to the purpose from the ma- chine and to send the scanned data to the computer. This section describes settings that should be specified on the computer in advance.

Right-click the scanner icon on the machine, and then select [Install]. – Depending on the settings on the computer, the UAC (User Ac- count Control) dialog box may appear.
