Checking the adjustment of the hand decompression cable*

To check, set piston at compression, so that the valves are closed. While
doing this, slowly operate the kickstarter through its stroke until the
clicking sound (disengaging) of the automatic decompression can be heard.
Now the decompression lever must be operated 25 mm (1 in) until resi-
stance is felt (the exhaust valves begin to open). To adjust move back the
protective cover

F THERE IS NO PLAY IN THE DECOMPRESSION LEVER
NOTE:
No adjustment need be made to the automatic decompressor.

Engine oil

Only use high-quality oils meeting or surpassing the quality requirements
of API classes SF, SG, or SH (for specifications see containers). You may use
either mineral oils or synthetic oils fulfilling the above criteria (i. e. Shell
Advance Ultra).

Checking engine oil level
Allow the engine to run at idle speed for about 4 minutes. Turn off the
engine and place the motorcycle on a flat, level surface (main stand). Take
out the oil dipstick and wipe it off with a cloth.
TWIST THE OIL DIPSTICK ALL THE WAY IN AND THEN RETRIEVE IT.
The oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick. Add engine
