of the GFI circuit. It is protected by the breaker on the
MDP.
8.1.9 Inverter (Option)
When in Invert Mode (Converts 12VDC to 120VAC)
1. Turn house battery selector switch to the "1, 2 or
Both" position.
2. Select invert on the inverter remote panel (Located at
Nav Station).
3. Turn on desired breaker (Ex. outlets) on AC Panel.
Note: It takes 10 DC amps to create 1 AC amp. If the
battery voltage drops below 10.5V the inverter will auto-
matically shut down. Also the output of the inverter
is not capable of powering the water heater or air
conditioning system. The water heater is powered by
shore power cable.
To power DC panel and AC panel simultaneously
using inverter:
1. Turn on DC main breaker on battery switch panel.
2. Turn the selector switch to the "1, 2 or Both" position.
3. Select invert on the inverter remote panel. (This
applies when there is no shore power being supplied to
panel)
Built in Inverter Transfer Switch
The inverter automatically tranfers shore power to the
AC panel when shore power cable is connected and
dockside power is present at AC panel bypassing the
invert mode capabilities.
When in Charge Mode
1. Connect shore power cable to power AC panel.
2. Turn battery switch to the "Both" position.
3. Turn on AC Main breaker.
4. Select charge on inverter remote panel.
Note: When leaving boat unattended, be sure invert
select on remote panel is "OFF", this way if shore
power is lost for any reason, this will prevent the inverter

from converting 12VDC to AC voltage causing batteries
to be drained.
8.1.10 Air Conditioner (Option)
The Air Conditioning system is 120 volt (220 overseas)
AC powered and powered from the AC Distribution
Panel.
The cooling water pump is controlled by a relay at the
compressor and is energized when the Air Conditioning
Compressor comes on.
You can consult the Arrangement Illustration at the end of
this section for location information, or see the Mechanical
Arrangement in the Boating Safety Section. The Water
Systems will show you the Pick-up and Strainer for this
system.
It is very important for you to read and understand the
operation and the maintenance for the systems or com-
ponents in your AC Electric System. This will save failure
of components or systems, as well as, make your boat a
safer, more enjoyable investment.
Note: When using air conditioning system with other
appliances power up the air conditioner first.
Always make certain that the pick-up and discharge
valves for the Air Conditioning System are opened
before using. Failure to do so will cause permanent
damage to your compressor. Also, be certain that
the strainer is clean. See the Water Systems section
8.1.10.1 Air Conditioning System Operation
1. Connect shore power cord.
2. Check the air conditioner sea strainer (in bilge fwd of
engine box). Clean if necessary.
3. Open raw water pickup seacock (in bilge fwd of engine
box).
4. Open raw water discharge seacock (port fed v-berth
compartment.
5. Turn on AC Main breaker on AC Distribution Panel.
6. Turn on air conditioner breaker.
