CATEGORY C – inshore: Craft designed for voyages in
coastal waters, large bays, estuaries, lakes and rivers, where
conditions up to and including wind force of 5 beaufort and
significant wave heights up to and including 2m may be
experienced.
The Nacra range of crafts comply with this design category is
subject to:
A crew having suitable skill and experience.
Satisfactory maintenance of the craft and its equipment.
Support the crew even when swamped.
Be recovered by the crew after capsize.
Users of the craft should comply that:
All crew should receive suitable training.
Trapeze shall not be used carrying more than 2 persons.
The craft shall not carry more than the maximum load.
All inspection hatches and drains shall be closed
Bilge water shall be kept to a minimum.
Stability is reduced by any weight added above the cen-
tre of buoyancy.
