The following table lists the error messages and other warnings displayed in the
monitor, as well as the solutions for dealing with them.

Problem
The lens cap may be
attached, or a lens error has
occurred.
Clock not set.
Battery exhausted.
Camera cannot focus.
Camera cannot perform
other operations until
saving is complete.
Write-protect switch is in
"lock" position.
Error accessing memory
card.
Memory card has not been
formatted for use in
COOLPIX L120.
Solution
Make sure that the lens cap
has been removed, then
turn the camera on again. If
the error persists even after
the camera is turned off and
then on again, contact
retailer or Nikon-authorized
service representative.
Set clock.
Replace the batteries.
• Refocus.
• Use focus lock.
Wait until message clears
from display automatically
when saving is complete.
Slide write-protect switch to
"write" position.
• Use approved card.
• Check that connectors
are clean.
• Confirm that memory
card is correctly inserted.
All data saved on the
memory card will be
deleted. If there is any data
on the card that you want
to keep, select No, and
backup the data to a
computer before
formatting the memory
card. To format the memory
card, select Yes and press
the k button.
