Overview
There are two models for one-user MCCAT units: MCCAT116 and MCCAT18.
These models share the same features. The only difference is that MCCAT116
comes with 16 channel ports while MCCAT18 comes with 8 channel ports.

What to Read
The product allows you to establish either a one-tier MCCAT system, which com-
prises of one single MCCAT unit only, or a two-tier MCCAT system, which com-
prises of multiple MCCAT units. Depending on whether you want to establish a
one-tier or two-tier system, the sections that you should read in this guide vary.

For more information about the features and operation, download the MCCAT
User Guide from Raritan's website. See "Downloading the User Guide" for down-
load instructions.
Connecting Computers
1.
Make sure all devices are NOT powered, including computers (or servers),
MCCAT unit and the monitor.
2.
Connect an MCIM (either MCIM-USB or MCIM-PS2) to one of the computers.
If using the MCIM-USB:
a.
Connect MCIM's USB connector to one of the USB ports of the com-
puter.

Connect MCIM's video connector to the video port of the computer.

If using the MCIM-PS2:
a.
Connect MCIM's PS/2 mouse connector to the PS/2 mouse port of the
computer.
b.
Connect MCIM's PS/2 keyboard connector to the PS/2 keyboard port
of the computer.
c.
Connect MCIM's video connector to the video port of the computer.

3.
Connect the computer to one of the channel ports on your MCCAT unit via a
standard Category 5 (Cat 5) cable.
a.
Connect one end of the Cat 5 cable to the RJ45 port of the MCIM being
attached to the computer.
b.
Connect the other end of the Cat 5 cable to one of the RJ45 channel ports
of the MCCAT unit.

4.
Repeat Steps 2 to 3 if you want to connect more computers to the MCCAT
unit.
5.
Connect the PS/2 keyboard, mouse and VGA monitor to the MCCAT unit.
a.
Connect the PS/2 keyboard to the PS/2 keyboard port of the MCCAT unit.
b.
Connect the PS/2 mouse to the PS/2 mouse port of the MCCAT unit.
c.
Connect the VGA connector of the monitor to the video port of the MCCAT
unit.

6.
Connect the appropriate power cords to all devices, including the MCCAT unit,
attached computers and monitor; connect the other end of these power cords
to working power outlets.
6.
Switch ON the attached computers and monitor.
7.
Switch ON the MCCAT unit.
