Troubleshooting

If you have problems operating this product, refer to this section. The most common problems are
listed below, along with likely causes and solutions. If a solution to your problem cannot be found
here, contact your dealer or the nearest authorised Pioneer service facility.
Problems with the AV screen
Symptom
The screen is covered by a cau-
tion message and the video can-
not be shown.
No video output from the con-
nected equipment.
The audio or video skips.
No sounds are produced.
The volume level will not rise.
The icon 9 is displayed, and op-
eration is impossible.
The picture stops (pauses) and
this product cannot be oper-
ated.
iPod cannot be operated.
Sound from the iPod cannot be
heard.
Problems with the phone screen
Symptom
Dialling is impossible because
the touch panel keys for dialling
are inactive.

Cause
The handbrake lead is not con-
nected or applied.
The handbrake interlock is acti-
vated.
The "AV Input" setting is incorrect.
This product is not firmly secured.
Cables are not connected correctly.
The system is performing still or
slow motion playback with Video.
The system is paused or performing
fast reverse or fast forward during
playback.
The operation is not available.
The reading of data is impossible
during playback.
The iPod is frozen.
An error has occurred.
Cables are not connected correctly.
The audio output direction may
switch automatically when the
Bluetooth and USB connections are
used at the same time.
Cause
Your phone is out of range for ser-
vice.
The connection between the mobile
phone and this product cannot be
established now.
Action (Reference)
Connect the handbrake lead correctly, and
apply the handbrake.
Park your vehicle in a safe place and apply
the handbrake.
Correct the settings. (Page 78)
Secure this product firmly.
Connect the cables correctly.
There is no sound during still or slow motion
playback with Video.
There is no sound on fast reverse or forward.
The operation is not available.
Stop playback once, then restart.
! Reconnect the iPod with the USB interface
cable for iPod / iPhone.
! Update the iPod software version.
! Reconnect the iPod with the USB interface
cable for iPod / iPhone.
! Park your vehicle in a safe place, and turn
off the engine. Turn the ignition key back to
off (ACC OFF). Then restart the engine, and
turn the power to this product back on.
! Update the iPod software version.
Connect the cables correctly.
Use the iPod to change the audio output di-
rection.
Action
Retry after re-entering the range for service.
Perform the connection process.
