    GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1) WORK AREA a) Do not operate pump in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Engine may create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. b) Never run engine in an enclosed area. Exhaust gases contain deadly, poisonous carbon monoxide, which has no odour or taste.

    ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PETROL PUMPS 1) Never refuel while engine is running or hot. Fuel spilled on a hot engine could result in a fire or explosion. 2) Use caution when handling petrol. Refuel in well-ventilated area. Do not overfill fuel tank and do not spill fuel.

    SETUP & INSTALLATION Positioning The Pump Fig. 1 1. Place the pump close to the water that is required to be pumped (Fig. 1). Note: Ensure the pump is no further than 5m away from the water’s edge. For best pump performance, place the pump near the water level and use hoses that are no longer than necessary.
  • Page 12 SETUP & INSTALLATION (cont.) 6. Align and screw the collar onto the thread of the suction inlet (8) port of the Fig. 5 pump (Fig. 5). Note: Ensure the collar is tightly fastened onto the suction inlet (8); failure to do so may result in an air leak.

    OPERATION Fuelling Motor fuel: mix at 40:1 only Note. Only use unleaded 91 RON (Research Octane Number) Note. Only use oil that is expressly labelled for use with air-cooled 2-stroke engines. Note. Always transport and store fuels in an approved container. 1.
  • Page 14 OPERATION cont. Spark Plugs Note: Not all spark plugs for engines are the same. 1. Use only the spark plugs that are recommended for this petrol pump: TORCH-L8RTC, Champion -CJ8Y, NGK-BPM6A. Note: Using a spark plug other than that specified could lead to serious engine damage. 2.
  • Page 15 OPERATION cont. 5. Move the choke lever (15) to the “OPEN” (run) position and pull the recoil starter (16) until the engine starts. The throttle (12) can then be adjusted to the desired speed. Once the engine is in operation, the pump will continue to run until it is turned off.

    MAINTENANCE Storing the Pump Fig. 16 Before storing the pump, it is recommended to empty the pump body of any water. Turn the drain screw (6) anti-clockwise and remove from the pump body. This will drain any excess water. Replace the drain screw (6) (Fig. 16). Replacing the Air Filter Fig.
