B - Verification and Calibration
Steps 7-11 apply to Agilent 66309B/D output 2 only
7.
Turn off the dc source and connect the DMM and current monitor
to output 2 as shown in figure B-1A. Then turn on the dc source
and select Output 2.
8.
Set the output 2 voltage to 5 V and the current to 0 A. Press
Output On/Off to enable the output.
9.
Divide the voltage drop across the current monitor by its resistance
to convert the value to amperes. Record this value (I2lo).
10.
Set the output 2 current 1.5 A.
11.
Divide the voltage drop across the current monitor by its resistance
to convert the value to amperes. Record this value (I2hi). Also
record the current reading on the front panel display (I2fphi).
Low Range Current Measurement (Agilent 66311B/D, 66309B/D only)
Action
12.
Turn off and connect output 1 as shown in Figure B-1B using the
400 ohm load resistor. Set the DMM to operate in current mode.
13.
Turn on the dc source, access the Input menu, and set the current
range to LOW.
Set the output 1 voltage to 0 V and the current 3 A. Press Output
14.
On/Off to enable the output.
15.
Note the current reading on the DMM (Ilrlo). Record the current
reading on the front panel display.
16.
Set the output 1 voltage to 8 volts.
17.
Note the current reading on the DMM (Ilrhi). Record the current
reading on the front panel display.
Current Sink Measurement
Action
18.
Turn off the dc source and connect an external supply to output 1
of the unit as shown in figure B-1C using the 400 ohm load
resistor. Set the DMM to operate in current mode.
19.
Turn on the dc source, access the Input menu, and set the current
range to LOW.
20.
Access the Input menu and set the current sense detector to DC.
Turn on the external supply and program it to 8 volts and 5 A.
21.
Program the dc source to 0 V and 1 A.
Press Output On/Off to enable the output.
22.
Note the current reading on the DMM (Isinklo). Record the
current reading on the front panel display.
23.
Access the Input menu and set the current range to HIGH.
24.
Short out the load resistor by connecting a jumper across it.
25.
Note the current reading on the DMM (Isinkhi). Record the
current reading on the front panel display.
