MANUAL-SHIFT TRANSMISSION
SHIF"'"ING GEA
-When shifting from one
forward
gear to another, or when
using reverse gear:
1,
Depress clutch pedal to floor.
Move shift
lever
to desired position.
3.
Release clutch pedal and press down on accelerator pedal at
the same time.
For smoother starts, always shift from Low to Second to High, as illustrated.
Driving with your foot on clutch pedal will cause excessive clutch wear.
PUSH
STARTING-Turn Ignition Switch to On position, depress clutch pedal to
floor and move shift
lever
to Second or High gear position. When a speed of about
10 mph
is
reached, slowly release the clutch pedal.
SAFE TOWING-Shift lever should be placed
in
Neutral.
If
the transmission is not
operative, car should be towed with rear wheels off the ground or with propeller
shaft disconnected. Never tow one car behind another to start engine.
