1. Insert CB1394B3 into an available CardBus slot on the host computer. Please ensure that there
are no FireWire peripherals connected to the adapter, prior to connection.
2. Windows will automatically install the necessary software. In the task bar, you will notice several
message balloons indicating the status of the installation:

3. Once you see the message balloon indicating that Your new hardware is installed and ready
to use, browse to the Device Manager to ensure that the FireWire ports have successfully been
installed. To perform this step:
a) Right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
b) In the Computer Management pane that appears (left side), click on the listing for
Device Manager.
c) In the right pane, click on IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers. Here, you should see
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller listed.
d) In the right pane, click on PCMCIA Adapters. Here, you should see Texas
Instruments PCI-4520 CardBus Controller listed (twice):
