Congratulations on the purchase of your Russell Hobbs Espresso Maker. Each unit is manufactured to ensure safety and reliability. Before using this appliance for the first time, please read this instruction booklet carefully and keep it for future reference. Pass it on if you pass on the Espresso Maker. -
Page 5: Indicator Lamps
INDICATOR LAMPS The espresso maker has 2 indicator lamps. ON/OFF lamp - This lamp illuminates to indicate the unit is on. Ready lamp - This lamp illuminates only when the water has reached operating temperature. It will cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains optimum water temperature. -
Page 6: Brewing Espresso Coffee
PREPARING ESPRESSO COFFEE NOTE: Always fill the water tank before the espresso maker is turned on and make sure the steam control is fully closed and all switches are in the outermost position. It is preferable to preheat the coffee cup(s) before brewing. With the espresso maker preheated and filter holder installed, place 1 or 2 cups under the filter holder and press the pump START/STOP switch to START. - Page 7 CAPPUCCINO & LATTE A Cappuccino is an espresso with hot milk and a frothy milk top. A latte is basically the same only with more milk and less froth. Prepare your espresso as described above. Fill a small jug (preferable metal) with the desired amount of milk. As milk expands when heated, and to allow additional room for the froth do not fill the jug more than two thirds full.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Switch off and unplug the Espresso Maker from the wall power outlet, and let it cool down fully. Grip the filter holder handle and turn the filter holder from right to left for removal. To remove the used coffee grounds, grip the filter holder handle and hold the handle clip firmly against the filter basket. - Page 9 CLEANING THE ESPRESSO BOILER OUTLET At least twice a year, it is necessary to clean the outlet of the espresso boiler in the following manner: BOILER OUTLET Check that the espresso maker is cool and the plug is detached from the wall power outlet.

Unplug the espresso maker when not in use, before moving or cleaning. Let it cool down before cleaning and storing away. Use only accessories or attachments supplied for specific use with the Russell Hobbs espresso maker.
