    Because of S4X technology, any of Induction Dynamics’ speakers can be used to build a custom home theater system. Your C2.w can be combined with any of our main and surround speakers, be they in-wall, on-wall, or free-standing.

    “boomy”, obscure higher frequencies, and possibly cause damage due to excessive cone excursion. C2.w Location Ideally, the C2.w should be placed behind a perforated video projection screen. For use with a flat-screen or other video monitor, the best placement is usually below the screen. If it is not possible to place the speaker below the screen, placement above the screen is acceptable.

    Above: The S4X crossover routes audio signal to their intended drivers at specific frequen- cies (the C2.w utilizes a single crossover at 2500 Hz). Because the S4X produces such a steep crossover slope, Induction Dynamics is able to use the best possible drivers for each frequency range. Subwoofer crossover points are generally selectable through your sub- woofer amplifier. Induction Dynamics recommends a subwoofer crossover point between 50-60 Hz.

  • Page 7: Multi-Channel (Home Theater) Installation

    A 5.1 system consists of a front left, front right, surround left, suround right, center channel, and subwoofer channel. A C2.w is intended as a center channel. In a home theater configuration, the center channel should be centered between the left and right front channels and as close to listening height as possible, either above or below the screen (preferably below the screen).

    Speaker cable (fire rated if run inside walls) Flashlight Level Installing the Easy-Mount Box Onto the Wall 1. The C2.w is shipped pre-assembled with the faceplate attached to the easy-mount box with bolts. In order to install the C2.w onto the wall, you will first need to separate the faceplate from the box. First, remove the grille mounting flanges, using the grille mount- ing flange driver. Note that there may be shims under some of the grille mounting flanges. You will need to save these shims for use when you reinstall the faceplate. Once the grille mounting flanges and shims are removed, use a 5/16” hex key or driver to unscrew the...

    6. If you cannot screw into a wall stud, use 4 dry wall anchor bolts that spread out behind the drywall. Select grommets that fit snugly around the bolts you have chosen. Be sure to put a metal washer between the head of the bolt and the grommet. Installing the Faceplate 1. Attach the speaker wire to the terminal block on the back of the faceplate, observing the proper polarity (red to red and black to black).
