completely self-contained and allow you to dispose of waste water at your
convenience. A flexible sewer hose is required to connect the holding tank
outlet to the inlet of an approved ;waste water dump station or sewer system.

The drain plumbing is similar to that used in your home. The system is
trapped and vented to prevent waste g<\ses from backing up into tlie mgtor
. home. The drain pluinbiqg is ):Iladeof ABS plflstic, and is durable and resistant
to mostchemicals. .
TOILET
Your motor home is equipped with a toilet designed for-use in marine and
. RV <\pplications. It may differ in some respects from residential toilets. Please

DRA(NlNG THE HOLDING TANKS
\ .' The holding tanks terminate in <\ valve arrangement that permits draining
each tal1k separately or together:The valves are called,"knife valves". A blade
closes the opening in the sewer drain pipes. The blade is connected to a T-
handle that is pulled to release the contents of-the tank(s). During self-

the sewer line is securely capped to prevent leakage of waste
material onto the ground or Pllvement.DO NOT PULLTHE HOLDING
. TANK KNIFE VALVE OPEN WHEN THE PRGTECTIVE CAP IS IN-
STALLED ON THE PIPE Always drain the tank into an acceptable sewer'
inlet or dllmp station.
. WARNING
Holding tanks are enclosed sewer systems and as
such must be drained into an approved dump station.
Both black and gray water holding tanks must be'
drained and thoroughly rinsed regularly to prevent
accumulation of harmful ortoxicmateriars.
Whenever possible, drain the holding tanks before traveling. Waste water
and sewage in the holding tanks reduce the carrying capacity of the motor
