Maintenance-
The sealed beam headlamp features the T -3 headlamp bulb
unit and a redesigned retaining and mounting ring. The re-
taining ring is held to the lamp body by a spring eliminating
the screw attachment previously used. This feature simplifies
sealed beam replacement as well as eliminates confusion that
existed between retaining ring screws and adjusting screws.
Sealed Beam Unit Replacement
1. Remove three headlamp door retaining screws and
remove door with gasket.
2. Unhook the spring from the retaining ring (fig. 63) and,
holding sealed beam unit, retaining ring and mounting ring
as an assembly, remove mounting ring from adjusting screws.
DO NOT disturb the adjusting screws.
3. Pull assembly forward, disconnect connector plug from
sealed beam unit (fig. 64) and remove assembly.
