Replacing the Speakers

CAUTION:
Before you perform any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the
Information Guide
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically
touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
1 Follow the instructions in "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer" on page 7.
2 Follow the instructions in "Removing the Speakers" on page 79.
NOTICE:
Exercise care when handling or replacing the speakers.
3 Place each of the new speakers in the appropriate speaker slot.
NOTE:
For proper placement, align the slots on the speakers with the screw-hole guide posts on the base of
the computer.
4 Replace the three M2.5 x 5-mm screws to secure the speakers to the base of the computer.
5 Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
6 Replace the palmrest (see "Replacing the Palm Rest" on page 69).
7 Replace the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly (see "Replacing the Microprocessor Thermal-
Cooling Assembly" on page 72).
8 Replace the display assembly (see "Replacing the Display Assembly" on page 56).
