STOPPING ENGINE

Turn the starter switch to the "ACC" or "OFF" position.
Your vehicle is powered by a turbo diesel engine. Before turning the engine OFF,
allow the engine to run for about 1 to 2 minutes at idle speed.

PARKING

When leaving your vehicle unattended:
Set the parking brake.

When parking a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission on an

upward slope, place the shift lever in the "1st" position.
When parking a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission on a
l
downward slope, place the shift lever in the "R" (Reverse) position.
Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position.
l
Remove the key.
l
Close all windows and lock all doors.
l
Check to make certain lights are turned off.
