Vehicle Storage

Storage for a long period of time. If the vehicle is to be stored for several months:
Wash and wax the vehicle.
Ÿ
Have the wax in the engine compartment and underbody checked.
Ÿ
Clean and preserve rubber seals.
Ÿ
Change engine oil.
Ÿ
Drain washer fluid reservoir.
Ÿ
Check coolant anti-freeze and corrosion protection.
Ÿ
Adjust tyre pressure to the value specified for full load.
Ÿ
Park vehicle in dry, well ventilated place. Engage first or reverse gear. Prevent
Ÿ
the vehicle from rolling.
Do not apply parking brake.
Ÿ
Open bonnet, close all doors and lock the vehicle.
Ÿ
Disconnect the clamp form the negative terminal of the vehicle battery.

Putting back into operation

When the Vehicle is to be put back into operation:
Ÿ
Connect the clamp to the negative terminal of the vehicle battery.
Ÿ
Check tyre pressure.
Ÿ
Fill up the washer fluid reservoir.
Ÿ
Check the engine oil level.
Ÿ
Check the coolant level.
Ÿ
Do not wash the engine compartment with high pressure water as it could damage the
electrical connectors by water entry.
Never wash the engine while it is running, as water in the running engine may cause
internal damage.
