MIDI UPGRADE

By choosing this option, the Monomachine prepares itself to receive an OS upgrade via
MIDI.
Check that all MIDI cables are connected correctly.
1.
Load the new OS in an appropriate computer program capable of sending sysex files.

We recommend the program C6 which can be found on the Elektron website. You can
also use another Monomachine with an up to date OS. Connect it to the Monomachine
that will be upgraded, and transmit the OS. Read more about this procedure in the
"SEND UPGRADE" section.
Choose MIDI UPGRADE by pressing the fifth [TRIG] key. The Monomachine will wait for

an OS to be transmitted to it and a message stating "READY TO RECEIVE MIDI
UPGRADE " will appear on the screen.
Once the Monomachine senses that an OS is being sent to it the <TRIG> LED's will light

up one after another. Please note that this procedure takes a while.
When the transfer is finished the message "PREPARING FLASH" appears.

"PREPARING FLASH" is shortly followed by "UPDATING FLASH". When this process is

finished the OS is updated.

SEND UPGRADE

With this option you can send the OS installed in your Monomachine to a another unit.
Connect the MIDI OUT on the Monomachine with the latest OS to the MIDI IN on the

Monomachine that is going to be upgraded. Enter the EARLY STARTUP menus on both
machines.
Enter the MIDI UPGRADE mode in the Monomachine that is supposed to be upgraded

by pressing the fifth [TRIG KEY]. Make sure you see the message "READY TO
RECEIVE MIDI UPGRADE " on the screen.
Press the sixth [TRIG] key of the Monomachine that is used to send the OS upgrade.

This will start the transmission of the OS to the other Monomachine.
