TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Check the following chart before requesting service.
SYMPTOMS
POWER
No power.
Although the power is on,
the TV/VCR does not
operate.
TV BROADCAST RECEPTION
Poor or no picture.
Poor or no color.
Picture wobbles or drifts.
No CATV reception.
No reception above
channel 13.
Poor or no sound.

CAUSE
The AC power cord is not connected.
Cassette is not inserted.
TIMER button is depressed.
TV station experiencing problems.
Picture control is not adjusted.
Possible local interference.
Antenna (CATV) connector is not
connected or possible local interfer-
ence.
TV station experiencing problems.
Picture control is not adjusted.
Possible local interference.
Antenna (CATV) connector is not
connected or possible local interfer-
ence.
TV station experiencing problems.
Antenna (CATV) connector is not
connected or possible local interfer-
ence.
Cable TV channel is scrambled.
CATV connector is not connected.
TV/CATV Mode menu option is set to
the TV mode.
Cable TV service interrupted.
TV/CATV Mode menu option is not
set to the appropriate mode.
UHF antenna is not connected.
TV station experiencing problems.
Antenna (CATV) connector is not
connected or possible local interfer-
ence.
Possible local interference.
MUTING button is depressed.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Connect the AC power cord to the
AC outlet.
Insert a video cassette.
Press the TIMER button.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CATV connection or
VHF/UHF antenna, reposition
or rotate antenna.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CATV connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.

Check that MUTING button has
not been pressed.
