Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.
  • Page 8 • Do not operate the system in the vicinity of strong transmitters such as microwave and shortwave appliances. • To ensure ThermoDock readings are accurate, keep at a minimum distance of about 30 cm from other wireless devices. • Only use the unit for the specific purpose described in the instruction manual.
  • Page 9 In this case, the temperature measured by the ThermoDock may be unusually low. If the measurement therefore does not match the patient’s own perception or is unusually low, repeat the measurement every 15 minutes.

    Object temperature with live mode Apart from measuring body temperature, the Thermo- Dock from MEDISANA can also be used in live mode to measure the temperature of objects (e.g. fluids, surfaces, ambient temperature). The temperature range for this function is between 0 and 100 °Celsius.

    4 Getting Started 4.1 Installing the VitaDock (app) software ® MEDISANA is setting new standards in mobile health with VitaDock.     Check the date and time settings on your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad. The date and time are important for evaluating the readings. Start the ThermoDock by touching the icon . The display briefly shows the “Vita Dock“ start page and then automatically switches to an entry screen for your personal data.
  • Page 18 4 Getting Started „ThermoDock“ settings After you save your data, you enter the VitaDock universe. Touch the “Setting” icon Touch the “ThermoDock” icon Choose: Measures temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. You can use Default or Custom values as the target temperature.

    The ThermoDock must adapt to the ambient temperature in order to measure body temperature precisely. This occurs automatically. However, the ThermoDock takes a certain amount of time to equalise its own temperature to that of the room. This depends on the difference in temperature and can take more than 30 minutes.
  • Page 21 5 Operation NOTES For the most accurate readings: (Continued) • If the sensor becomes dirty during or after a reading, clean it with a cotton bud dipped in cleaning alcohol before putting the thermometer away. • Always take the temperature in the same place, because the readings will vary in different environments.

    1. You can activate the ThermoDock’s temperature measuring mode in two ways: a) Plug & Play: Plug the ThermoDock module into the switched-on Apple device. Select the user profile and enter the password, if necessary. The VitaDock app starts automatically in temperature measuring mode.

    To set up the email address to send a report see your iPhone / iPod touch / iPad manual. When the ThermoDock display is shown, touch the icon and slide the display to “Global settings”. Touch the “report“ icon to display the monthly reports.

    5 Operation 5.7 Adding further user profiles You have the option of creating up to three additional user profiles in the VitaDock app. There are two ways of doing this: a) You can create a new user profile when you start the VitaDock app.
