1. Check the specific gravity of the batteries. 2. Check the battery cable connections. 3. Check the floor skirts to floor clearance. 4. Check the main brush and side brush, if so equipped, brush patterns. 140E MM156 (3- -88)
If batteries are not fully discharged, reduce charging time proportionally. Do not expose the battery charger to water. Do not touch uninsulated battery terminals or unnecessarily expose any portion of your body to BATTERY ELECTROLYTE LEVEL the batteries when making electrical connections. 140E MM156 (12- -00)

If the polish mark width is too narrow, turn the main brush lift handle counterclockwise to lower the brush. If any adjustments are made, recheck the main brush pattern before resuming work with the machine. 3-13 140E MM156 (3- -94)

6. Pull the motor back to tighten the belt. Do not pry on the motor. 20. Adjust the clutch cable as described in TO ADJUST FLAT PROPELLING BELT. 7. Tighten the electric motor mounting bolts. 3-21 140E MM156 (6- -91)
LOOSENING LOCKING COLLAR SETSCREW B. Unthread and separate the jackshaft extension from the jackshaft enough to slide the drive belt through. Also note that the jackshaft extension is threaded onto the jackshaft with left hand threads. 3-22 140E MM156 (6- -91)
9. Reconnect the belt idler spring to the spring bracket. 10. Carefully tip the machine into the “operating” position. 11. Reinstall the batteries. 12. Reconnect the batteries-to-machine connector. 13. Replace the debris hopper and the battery cover. 3-23 140E MM156 (6- -91)
