Reference information
Check the signal strength on your car phone display. If the
cellular signals are not strong enough to support a voice call,
data connection should not be attempted until you can find a
location with better reception.
Data transfer via the RS232 interface
To be able to connect your compatible laptop computer to the
car phone system, you will need an adapter cable (D-SUB9
adapter cable/laptop to 10-pin western cable/vehicle).
Should you wish to transfer data between your car phone and a
compatible laptop, plug the 10-pin western connector into the
port provided in the radio unit. The D-SUB9 connector plugs
into the laptop. A compatible mobile fax device can also be
connected. For further information, see Overview of the car
phone and equipment on page 7.
To put your modem into operation, you will need to select the
data transmission speed Standard 19200 bps on the laptop. For
more information, see the NOKIA website:
http://www.nokia.com.
