I don't have the cd to download the program for Z40 so is there another way that can be done

Download files from the camera to the computer: After connecting the camera to PC, a removable disc icon will appear in the window of “My Computer”. The photos/video files you have taken will be saved in the file folder \ DCIM\ 100MEDIA in the removable disc.
