Seats
Folding seat backs are equipped
with self-latching mechanisms and
release controls designed for the con-
venience of entering and exiting pas-
sengers.
Manually Operated Front Seats - Pull
forward on the seat adjuster lever,
located on the driver's side of the front
seat, to unlock the seat and allow ad-
justment to the front or rear. As the
seat slides forward, it tilts slightly to
provide best posture and increased
driving ease. Release the lever to lock
the seat in the desired position.
Back Locks
(Manual) - For your
safety each folding front seatback has
a lock which must be released before
the seatback can be folded forward.
(Electric)-On cars equipped with the
optional electric seat back lock release
both front seatbacks unlock automa-
tically when either front door is
opened and manually lock when both
doors are closed. Push lightly rear-
ward on passenger seatback to ensure
that it is locked
if
the seat is to be un-
occupied. Also, the seatbacks can be
unlocked by using the manual release.
Standard Seats - The release knob is
located at the lower rear of each
backrest nearest the door. Lift the
knob upward, then pull the seatback
forward.
Strato Type Seats-Located on the
upper side of each backrest, a button
32
release must be pressed while pulling
the seatback forward.
. The lock will latch when the seat-
back returns to its upright position.
Power Operated Front Seats
The six-way electrically operated
front seat combines the operation of
three separate switches to move the
seat into almost any desired position.
The three controls operate as fol-
lows:
• The center toggle switch is used to
move the seat forward, rearward, up
or down.
• The front switch tilts the front of
the seat up and
down~
• The rear switch tilts the rear of the
seat up and down.
CAUTION: The filler panel between the
rear seat
and the
rear
window should not
be used for storage-even of light weight,
small articles. They might become dan-
gerous projectiles during
a
collision
or
sudden stop; larger items may also reduce
vision
to
the
rear.
