Connecting the first ISDN device

The WorldCommunicator will recognize a single
ISDN equipment without any prior programming.
Connect the equipment to the ISDN port, and verify
that you have a dial tone.
If no extension number (MSN, see
is configured in an ISDN phone, the Modem Unit
automatically chooses 4.8 kbps speech quality.
64 kbps speech
The ISDN phone can be set to use the high quality
64 kbps speech service by entering the MSN
number 30 into the ISDN equipment.
See the manual enclosed with the ISDN telephone
on how to program the MSN number to 30.
Example of entering MSN no. 30 into Siemens
type Profiset 30:

• Leave handset on, and enter
0 1 1 3 0
on the phone keypad.
• Finally, pressing enters
MSN number 30 as MSN1 in the ISDN phone.
