Step-by-Step Instructions

Using options to Setup the Navigation Page:

1. With the Navigation Page displayed, use the CLICK

STICK to highlight the Options Menu button at the

top of the page. Then press it in to display the menu.

2. Observe the Options Menu: If you are currently navigating

on a Goto, Track, or Route, the 'Stop Navigation' option

will be active, otherwise it will be "grayed out". The

next option on the list will be 'Bearing Pointer", which is

displayed on the compass ring. The next option on the

list will be 'Big Numbers' which displays information in

two data ﬁ elds in large sized numbers above and below

the compass while displaying the compass in a smaller

scale followed by 'Calibate Compass'. The last option on

the list is 'Restore Defaults'.

3. Use the CLICK STICK to highlight your selection

and then press in to activate.

Calibrating the Electronic Compass:

1. If you selected the 'Calibrate Compass' option, then follow

the instructions for calibrating the Compass on page 8.

With the compass properly calibrated, you can use the

Sight 'N Go feature to travel to an object that you can see

but cannot travel in a direct line to reach.

Using Sight 'N Go to navigate to a destination:

1. Use the PAGE button to access the Navigation Page and

then use the CLICK STICK to access the Options Menu.

2. Use the CLICK STICK to highlight the Sight 'N Go option

and press it in to activate the Sight 'N Go feature.

3. Observe the compass ring with pointer is in-line with

the two sighting marks on the case.

4. Hold the eTrex Vista at eye level and then line up the two

sighting marks on the case with the distant object. Then

press in on the CLICK STICK to 'Lock Direction'.

5. Select 'Set Course" and press in on the CLICK STICK.

6. You can now begin traveling to your destination using the

pointer as a guide. If you are not holding the unit level,

the 'Hold Level' text on the screen will turn on and off.
