Transmission Fluid, Rear Differential Fluid, Transfer Assembly Fluid
Reinstall the under cover, tighten the
mounting bolt securely, then put the
holding clips back in place. Make
sure the under cover is installed
under the edge of the front bumper.
If Acura MTF is not available, you
may use an SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40
viscosity motor oil with the API
Certification Seal that says ''FOR
GASOLINE ENGINES'' as a
temporary replacement. However,
motor oil does not contain the proper
additives, and continued use can
cause stiffer shifting. Replace as
soon as it is convenient.
The transmission should be drained
and refilled with new fluid according
to the maintenance minder (see page
497
).
If you are not sure how to check and
add fluid, contact your dealer.

Rear Differential Fluid

On SH-AWD models
The rear differential should be
drained and refilled with new fluid
according to the maintenance
minder. Have your dealer replace the
rear differential fluid.
Always use Acura ATF-Z1.

Transfer Assembly Fluid

On SH-AWD models
The transfer assembly fluid should
be drained and refilled with new fluid
according to the maintenance
minder. Have your dealer replace the
transfer assembly fluid.
Use a SAE 90 or SAE 80W-90
viscosity hypoid gear oil, API service
classified GL4 or GL5 only, in the
transfer assembly.
Viscosity
SAE 90:
above 0°F ( 18°C)
SAE 80W-90: below 0°F ( 18°C)
