Obtaining the PRL (roaming
area information)
The PRL (roaming area information)
contains information on roaming areas
of overseas partner providers who have
signed an international roaming contract
with KDDI (au).
Depending on the area, using old PRL data
can make communication impossible. Be
sure to obtain the latest PRL while still in
Japan, before leaving on your trip.

Slide the status bar downwards. Tap
[Settings], [Mobile network], [Update
PRL], and then [Check Now].

Setting the area

After reaching your destination, configure
settings for the area where you will be using
the product.

Slide the status bar downwards. Tap
[Settings], [Mobile network], and then
[Roaming Area Settings]. Next, tap the
area where you will be using the product.
KDDI Only Select this setting to use the
product in Japan.
Auto Select this setting to use
the product inside or
outside of Japan (GLOBAL
PASSPORT CDMA,
GLOBAL PASSPORT GSM).
