Appendix B - Replacing or Adding a new Hard Drive

Replacing or Adding a New Hard Drive

It is recommended that you back up your important files before replacing or adding a new hard drive to the NVR.
Replacing a Hard Drive:
Please make sure the power is off before replacing a hard drive. After you have installed the new drive, turn on the NVR, and
then connect to the Web UI. The NVR will prompt you to format the new drive (Standard, RAID 1 mode) or both drives (JBOD,
RAID 0 mode).
Adding a New Hard Drive:
The NVR is able to work with one single hard drive under Standard mode. Please make sure the power is off before installing
a second hard drive.
After you have installed the new drive, turn on the NVR and then connect to the Web UI. The NVR will prompt you to format
the new drive.
Note: Formatting a hard drive will erase the data stored on the hard drive. Please back up important data before formatting
a hard drive.
